about

An 11-song audio-digital-holiday-greeting-card to our friends, fans, families, coworkers, classmates, loved ones, and so on:

On this, the darkest night of the year, please enjoy an aural greeting card from your friends, Buckman Page. Happy holidays!

A few days ago we set up two condenser mics in Matt’s apartment, rigged up our two-track recording studio (Stark Naked Records), and let loose a few songs that we’ve been wrestling with lately. This isn’t an official release of any of these new tunes. We’re actually working on a full-length and fully produced record with Buckman Page veteran, John Williamson, that will contain several of these, however. For now, this’ll have to do.

You may here a little bantering, scratchy voices, false starts, and a few mumbled lines here and there. Our intention wasn’t perfection, but a little holiday cheer. Imagine yourself sitting beside us late at night hollering on through new material that we just can’t keep from singing.

The tracks include songs like “Cold Cool Mama” and “So Heavenly,” songs that we’ve been performing regularly in acoustic sets lately. These and others were written over the past few years since our last album’s release. More recently written songs like “Please Stay, Baby” and “Mind at Ease” have also been included; though these have yet to be performed.

We also, for once decided it was time to record a few of our newer favorite cover songs (tracks 4, 8, and 11). One of these, “Last Song,” by Jason Webley, is an especially new one to the Buckman Page repertoire* that seemed to speak well to this project and the time in which it’s being released.

So, please enjoy this 11-song greeting card as you sip your holiday nog, or as you travel to distant parts of the country in search of rest, or perhaps, as the inspiration you need to start crafting your New Years resolutions.

To all those whom we love and cherish so deeply, cheers!

Tomorrow’s gonna be a brighter day.

With love,

Buckman Page
